Instructor Chris Quayle is a senior student of Dr. Vince Black and has years of experience as a practitioner and as instructor of the traditional Chinese internal arts (Hsing-I, Ba Gua, and Tai Chi) as well as Emperado’s Method Kajukenbo. Chris is affiliated with the North American Tang Shou Tao Association (founder Dr. Vince Black) as well as the Kajukenbo Self Defense Institute (KSDI) founded by Sijo Adriano D. Emperado.

At AFHA we consider a practical approach essential for the proper development of the practitioner. Practicality is equally essential to our research of the traditional internal boxing systems. We believe martial arts expertise begins with gravity. Gravity, in this context, refers to becoming centered through hard work by engaging in such activities as physical exercise, standing Qi Gong practice, and the application of proper breathing techniques, among others, before the fullest and truest expression of the internal boxing systems (in both form and practical application) is possible.

AFHA is now at 2158 N. 4th Street in Flagstaff.
